It gives communites the opportunity to come together to read, discuss, and celebrate one of 30 selections from U.S. and world literature. The Big Read brings together partners across the country to encourage reading for pleasure and enlightenment.
The Tom Green County Library System is pleased to announce their participation in the Big Read program. We were one of 75 organizations to recieve a grant for the 2011-2012 grant cycle. There were over 300 applications for this cycle.
Tom Green County Library's Big Read will take place during the months of January and February 2012, and will feature Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. We have partnered with several community organizations to bring book discussions and book related events to San Angelo.
